When Dinosaurs Ruled the Bathtub
A one-act play by Eladia Rice
(as transcribed by Dad)

Setting: The cliffs above Lake Buh-Bel.

The cast:
Eladia Rice
Red Dinosaur
Yellow Dinosaur
Blue Triceratops
Green Stegosaurus



The scene opens with Eladia playing in the waters of Lake Buh-Bel (behind the cliffs). Red Dinosaur quickly enters along the cliff and faces Eladia.

ELADIA: Hi Dinosaur, how are you?

RED DINOSAUR: (excitedly): Bah ha grr rah luf err. (increasing the pace) Ba ruuu grr ich lah. (continues to babble incoherently with an increasing pace and volume)

(Yellow Dinosaur suddenly jumps up from the lake and onto the cliff)

YELLOW DINOSAUR: Wait a sec!

(Everyone pauses)

YELLOW DINOSAUR: Bye!

(Yellow dinosaur jumps back in the water. After a pause, Blue Triceratops
enters.
)

RED DINOSAUR: How are you?

BLUE TRICERATOPS: Bah di bla kit gruf.

RED DINOSAUR: Gerr ya tho hu ta.

BLUE TRICERATOPS: That's right!

(Red Dinosaur exits. Green Stegosaurus enters.)

BLUE TRICERATOPS: How are you?

GREEN STEGOSAURUS: Bitta ba gra li ca.

BLUE TRICERATOPS: Hu ja lu bah bit ha.

GREEN STEGOSAURUS: Watch this!

(Green Stegosaurus dives into the water immediately followed by Blue
Triceratops.
)
