On the Road Again

Eladia, Mommy, and Daddy set out for Buffalo. Although they did not leave as early as Eladia seemed to think.....

.... they did plan it so that they could take her right from the crib to the car. The hope was she would fall asleep. When will they learn.

After Eladia woke up, she was quite pleasant. Riding in a car was fun.

She was quite easy for the first leg of the trip into Columbia, MO. (It's was mommy who wanted to stop...... daddy had deprived her of breakfast AND coffee.... when will he learn). So, they stopped at BK for breakfast, and the largest play land they had ever seen (close to 30 ft. high). "Eladia was so eager" to see the playland, she "made" daddy crawl through it with her. (OK, Daddy was eager to see the playland and made Eladia crawl through it.) Eladia really liked to look out the windows and wave to mommy below. She also met another 15 month old, and played with him a little while.

On the second leg, Eladia continued to try to fight off sleep, but caved somewhere near St. Louis. When she woke up, the car ride was getting less, and less fun. So they finally stopped in Effingham, IL for lunch.

Eladia was a pretty good passenger for the rest of the day. Luckily for mom and dad, she knows how to entertain herself. Not so luckily for mom and dad, she is amused by the sound of her own shrieks. Through most of Indiana, there was a lot of "aieeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeesaaaaaaaa...... ha, ha, ha." She also liked to wave her hand in front of her mouth and make "blubba blubba blubba" sounds. (Apparently, those are especially funny when they are loud.)

The family stopped in Columbus, OH for the night; Eladia did her usual "not time to sleep routine." In all fairness, she did need to stretch out her legs. So, she spent a lot of time running back and forth across the room; sounding like a baby elephant to the people sleeping below. (According to mommy, "walking like an elephant" comes from daddy's genetics.) This was followed by ripping all of the tissues out of the holder. (When Daddy said "Eladia" and started walking toward her, Eladia tried to stuff them back in.)

Then she turned the AC to Heat....... (guess she finds 70 degrees to be freezing!)
