A BIG COLLECTION of small things

The family went to the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City today. It houses one of the largest collection of miniatures.

Eladia had fun looking and pointing at all the small things. Her favorite was the circus collection. That was mainly because it had a button she could push to make circus noises play. A very close second was the stuffed animal castle. It also had a button that made all of the animals move. She also liked watching the marbles (which had a button that started them running down a track).

Although Eladia was an excellent museum patron, Mom and Dad learned that going places is a lot different now that Eladia has a memory. It used to be easy to move Eladia along by carrying her to a new room and finding something else to see. That is not the case anymore. At one point, Eladia ran down two hallways and halfway across the museum so that she could see the circus again. Then ran back again, and again, and again.

On a side note, there was one very depressing moment for Mom and Dad. They looked in a case, started to laugh, and then started to sigh when they realized that the toys from their childhood are old enough to be considered museum-worthy.
