Then there was the very long travel day home. First, there was the three and a half hour drive to Pittsburg (got some napping in). Then, she had to be cute while they ate lunch at the airport (there was also sugar to sort). With all that excitement, she just couldn't sleep on the plane and had to play with everything (luckily for Mom and Dad, the first leg was less than an hour).
Things looked really grim for the 3 hr layover in Detroit. It seemed Eladia could not stay awake any more....
... and then they she found a new friend at the play area, and her second wind.

(Her friend was coming back from Germany, and had a longer layover than Eladia).
So, it all made for a "fun" final leg into Kansas City. Tired Mommy, tired Daddy, and extremely tired baby. And it started out so well.....
... After getting on the plane, Mom could not find her purse (which had the car keys), and ran off the plane to look around the gate. It was only then that Dad notice the purse on the floor of the plane, and dragged Eladia to the front of the plane to tell the flight attendants while backing up all of the passengers trying to board. So dad is stuck trying to tend to Eladia which was made more difficult because the seats were not next to each other so Eladia had to be confined to a small space. Mom does get back on the plane, and helps get things settled. Then, the plane pulls away from the gate to get de-iced, but the truck runs out of de-icer. So, they had to sit there with the ventilation system turned off (they did not want to turn it back on and admit there was an additional delay), and the cabin getting hot and uncomfortable. Finally, they took off.......
.... and Eladia finally fell asleep. And how the sleep took her over. She woke up around 7 AM the next morning, but crashed at daddy's feet within 15 minutes. She then slept another 2 and a half hours, woke up for lunch, and crashed again within 2 hours. The second nap went over 4 hours, after which she was up less than 4 hours before crashing again for the night.
