So, Eladia is back to trying to climb up the forbidden gate. This time, I saw her going in that direction three times. I said "no" before she got to the gate all three times; she turned away and went to play with something else all three times.
Then she hatched a plan. Instead of grabbing the gate, she grabbed the wood brace supporting the gate, but used it to help her pull to a stand against the empty sewing table (she has never needed to do this before). So, Eladia managed to stay right next to the gate, but I couldn't admonish her because she was not doing anything wrong (even though both of us knew that she wanted to crawl to a stand on the gate). The sneaky little devil even repeated using the gate support to climb the table .... until she figured I believed she only wanted to climb the table (cause I started to look away).... at which point, she went right over to the gate and started crawling up it.
P.S. for Gramma Rosemary -- I don't not think this is poetic justice based upon how I was as a baby..... I am sure I was perfectly compliant.
